“Dreamer Wisher Liar” by Charise Mericle Harper

In this book, the main character is Ashley. Her best friend Lucy is going to camp for a whole month and then moving away. Instead of Ashley having perfectly planned summer with Lucy, she is left with Claire, the crazy little girl who’s mysterious mom died in a train crash. Claire proceeds to turn Ashley’s life upside down. There is only one thing Ashley has to look forward to, In her basement there is a wish jar filled crumbled up pieces of paper that take her to a brand new adventure!

This book is full of wonder and humor. I learned that even the littlest things can mean the biggest things ever.

I hope you like this book just as much as I did!

Interesting Reading Tips!!

When it is time for meals or snacks but you’re stuck in a book, I figured out a way to do both things at the same time without four hands! Position the book behind your bowl or plate and while you read, you can still eat. Here is a photo for you:

When you are reading in a fort, or tent, or in your bedroom when it’s dark… this book clip light comes in handy. You just clip it to the back of the book, turn it on and start reading!

Keep a reading log or list to keep track of the books you have read and rate them! I find this handy when I’m working with my blog and suggesting books to friends. This is the one I’ve been using since school has closed.

“Cyclone” by Doreen Cronin

After Nora blackmails her cousin, Riley, everything turns upside down. Nora tries to make it up to her but Riley is devastated. I liked this book because it was full of thrilling cliff hangers and I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. Even though this book is fiction, while I was reading it the book it felt like everything was real. I strongly advise you to read this book, even though it might seem boring at first, once you start to get into it I promise you that you will love it almost as much as me.

My First Book Review: “Out of My Mind” by Sharon Draper

I loved this book because reading about people overcoming challenges makes me feel more self-assured when I am faced with a problem. I think the main character of this book (Melody) is a great role model for those who are feeling down or different. This book brought laughter and tears to my eyes. I’ve read this book plenty of times and my love for this story continues to grow! Melody was born not able to talk or walk by herself (a disorder called Cerebral Palsy) but she has a photographic memory that helps her in many important ways. Melody is treated kindly by people who try to help her. However, there are also people who underestimate her because of her disabilities. I hope you all enjoy this amazing story of dodging obstacles and making the most of your life!
